My name is Roberta, and I have been a member of Die Linke since October 2024. As a person with a migration background, I experienced early on what inequality means. I know the German education system from my own experience – from leaving school with a secondary school certificate to studying Business Psychology. These experiences have shown me how strongly social conditions can shape educational and life paths. Even during my school years, justice was important to me. Over time, this drive turned into the wish to become politically active. Joining Die Linke was, for me, the logical step.

For me, the following holds true: Human dignity is inviolable – regardless of origin, nationality, or social status. I am committed to a society in which every child has access to good education, no one has to live without housing, and peace is taken for granted. To achieve this, we need solidarity, social justice, and equality – and the courage to stand clearly against racism, sexism, queerphobia, exploitation, and fascist structures.

Mein Name ist Roberta und ich bin seit Oktober 2024 Mitglied bei den Linken. Als Mensch mit Migrationshintergrund habe ich früh erlebt, was Ungleichheit bedeutet. Ich kenne das deutsche Bildungssystem aus eigener Erfahrung – vom Hauptschulabschluss bis hin zum Studium der Wirtschaftspsychologie. Diese Erfahrungen haben mir gezeigt, wie stark soziale Bedingungen Bildungs- und Lebenswege beeinflussen können. Schon in meiner Schulzeit war mir Gerechtigkeit wichtig. Aus diesem Antrieb wurde mit den Jahren der Wunsch, mich auch politisch einzubringen. Der Eintritt in die Linke war für mich der konsequente Schritt.

Für mich gilt: Die Würde des Menschen ist unantastbar, unabhängig von Herkunft, Staatsangehörigkeit oder sozialem Status. Ich engagiere mich für eine Gesellschaft, in der jedes Kind Zugang zu guter Bildung hat, niemand ohne Wohnung leben muss und Frieden selbstverständlich ist. Dafür braucht es Solidarität, soziale Gerechtigkeit und Gleichstellung und den Mut, sich klar gegen Rassismus, Sexismus, Queerfeindlichkeit, Ausbeutung und faschistische Strukturen zu stellen.

My name is Quinn (no pronouns).
I am convinced that we cannot achieve a just society under capitalism, and I try to act in a class-conscious way on every level. That is also why I am involved locally here in Limburg-Weilburg in our party.

This is a realization I came to not least because I failed according to the expectations of mainstream society. After finishing high school, I had to abandon my studies due to illness and have since been partially incapacitated for work.

A main focus of my work is with Linksjugend [’solid], where I serve as grassroots group spokesperson in Limburg and state spokesperson for Hesse. There, I see how strongly many young people are fighting for a better system – yet they are mostly neglected by the governing politics. That must end!

It is very important to me that we unite the different cultural struggles (against racism, sexism, queerphobia, ableism, …) with the struggle against capital and the super-rich in our society. Because together we are so many more!

With all my heart, I stand in opposition to our current form of democracy, which always ends up paving the way for the super-rich while trying to placate the majority of the population with small concessions. Together with my comrades, I am fighting for a democracy that truly helps the disadvantaged and makes prosperity possible for everyone – from the local level to the entire globe!

My name is Lena, and I am currently completing a voluntary social year at a special needs school. Afterwards, I would like to study Social Work – because I want to commit myself, both through my voluntary engagement with Die Linke and in my professional life, to building a society based on solidarity and justice.

I joined Die Linke because I want to help shape a politics that puts people at the center – not the profits of a few. In a society where so much is subordinated to the demands of the market, we need a strong voice for social justice, good jobs, fair wages, affordable housing, and dignified public services. That is what I want to stand up for.

I ran for the board because I want to show that young people can make a difference – and because I am convinced that a better future is only possible through solidarity and social cohesion.

Mein Name ist Lena, aktuell arbeite ich im Rahmen eines Freiwilligen Sozialen Jahres an einer Förderschule. Danach möchte ich Soziale Arbeit studieren – weil ich mich sowohl ehrenamtlich für die Linke, als auch beruflich für ein solidarisches und gerechtes Miteinander einsetzen will.

Ich bin der LINKEN beigetreten, weil ich eine Politik mitgestalten will, die den Menschen in den Mittelpunkt stellt – nicht die Profite weniger. In einer Gesellschaft, in der vieles dem Zwang des Marktes untergeordnet wird, braucht es eine starke Stimme für soziale Gerechtigkeit, für gute Arbeit, faire Löhne, bezahlbares Wohnen und eine würdige Daseinsvorsorge. Dafür möchte ich mich einsetzen.

Ich habe mich in den Vorstand wählen lassen, weil ich zeigen möchte, dass junge Menschen etwas verändern können – und weil ich überzeugt bin, dass eine bessere Zukunft nur in Solidarität und mit gesellschaftlichem Zusammenhalt möglich ist.

My name is Luka. I recently finished my school education and have now started a socio-pedagogical path in order to influence a system that I myself have only just managed to escape.

I joined Die Linke to initiate change – for example in our school system, but also in society as a whole. Through my work, I want to bring people together and counteract social division.

I want to have an impact on our future, on our welfare state, and on all of us as human beings. Shift to the right, climate catastrophe, capitalism: when I look at the status quo, it fills me with dread.

That is exactly what our party wants to address and oppose.

Mein Name ist Luka, ich bin kürzlich mit meiner schulischen Bildung fertig geworden und habe jetzt eine sozial-pädagogische Laufbahn eingeschlagen, um auf ein System einwirken zu können, aus dem ich selber jetzt erst entkommen bin.

Ich bin der Linken beigetreten, um Veränderungen anzustoßen. Zum Beispiel in unserem Schulsystem, aber auch in unserer gesamten Gesellschaft. Mit meiner Arbeit will ich Menschen vereinen und so der gesellschaftlichen Spaltung entgegenwirken. 

Ich will Einfluss auf unsere Zukunft nehmen, auf unseren Sozialstaat und auf uns alle, als Menschen. Rechtsruck, Klimakatastrophe, Kapitalismus: wenn ich mir den Status Quo anschaue, kommt mir das Grauen. 

Genau das will unsere Partei angehen und dagegenwirken.

Originally trained as a professional soldier, later educated as an IT technician and having studied Business Administration, I look back on many years of experience in the military, in business, and in voluntary work. The most important aspect of all the roles I have carried out – and continue to this day – has always been the individual person. It is also my core conviction that disagreements and conflicts can never be overcome by violence. All people must have the opportunity to live a self-determined life, free from discrimination and any form of coercion. Whatever I demand of others, I must also be willing to live by myself.

I am active in Die Linke because, for me, it is the only party that consistently and credibly strives to break the endless cycle of armed conflicts, denounces injustices, and works to eliminate them. For me, universal human rights are at the heart of this mission.

This is why issues such as peace policy and disarmament, social justice, affordable housing, educational equality, and social, cultural, and civic participation shape my political engagement. Some may call it fantasy to create such a society, such a state – I call it a vision. There are many books that analyze and critically discuss all kinds of aspects of our coexistence, but none about how it could truly work.

Ursprünglich als Berufssoldat ausgebildet, später zum Technikinformatiker umgeschult und BWL studiert, blicke ich auf viele Jahre Erfahrung in Militär, Wirtschaft und Ehrenamt zurück. Das wichtigste bei all meinen ausgeübten Tätigkeiten waren und sind für mich immer die Menschen im Einzelnen. So ist es auch meine Grundüberzeugung, dass Meinungsverschiedenheiten und Konflikte nie gewaltsam überwunden werden können. Allen Menschen müssen die Möglichkeiten für ein selbstbestimmtes Leben, ohne Diskriminierung und Zwänge jeglicher Art, offen stehen. Was ich anderen Menschen abverlange, muss ich auch bereit sein selber zu leben.

In der Linken bin ich aktiv, da es für mich die einzige Partei ist die konsequent und glaubhaft bestrebt ist, den ewigen Kreislauf kriegerischer Auseinandersetzungen zu durchbrechen, Ungerechtigkeiten anprangert und bestrebt ist, sie zu beseitigen. Dabei stehen für mich die universellen Menschenrechte im Mittelpunkt dieses Handelns.

Daher sind Themen wie Friedenspolitik & Abrüstung, soziale Gerechtigkeit, bezahlbarer Wohnraum, Bildungsgerechtigkeit sowie soziale, kulturelle und gesellschaftliche Teilhabe prägend für mein politisches Engagement. Manche mögen es als Phantasie bezeichnen, eine solche Gesellschaft, einen solchen Staat zu schaffen, ich bezeichne es als Vision. Es gibt viele Bücher, die sich analytisch und kritisch mit allen möglichen Aspekten unseres Zusammenlebens auseinandersetzten, nur keine darüber, wie es tatsächlich funktioniert.

I am Gregor, born in Cologne, father of two, and I have been living in Elz for 22 years. Professionally, I work as a music publisher, but privately and on a voluntary basis I have been deeply rooted in the community for many years.

For a long time, I have been active on the board of SV Elz 1911 e.V., where I am passionately committed to club life and the community. What matters most to me is that all citizens – regardless of origin, social background, or personal orientation – are included in community work and can experience participation.

As the spokesperson for the local branch of Die Linke in Elz, my political focus is on socially just local politics that also advocates for those who are often overlooked or disadvantaged. My goal is to further develop Elz into a community worth living in for everyone – in solidarity, fairness, and openness.

Ich bin Gregor, gebürtiger Kölner, 2-facher Vater und lebe seit 22 Jahren in Elz. Beruflich bin ich Musikverleger, privat und ehrenamtlich jedoch seit vielen Jahren fest in der Gemeinde verwurzelt.

Seit langer Zeit engagiere ich mich im Vorstand des SV Elz 1911 e.V. und setze mich dort mit Leidenschaft für das Vereinsleben und die Gemeinschaft ein. Besonders wichtig ist mir, dass alle Mitbürgerinnen und Mitbürger – unabhängig von Herkunft, sozialem Hintergrund oder persönlicher Neigung – in die Gemeindearbeit eingebunden werden und Teilhabe erfahren können.

Als Sprecher des Ortsverbands DIE LINKE in Elz liegt mein politischer Schwerpunkt auf einer sozial gerechten Kommunalpolitik, die sich auch für diejenigen stark macht, die oft übersehen ober benachteiligt werden. Mein Ziel ist es, Elz als lebenswerte Gemeinde für alle weiterzuentwickeln. Solidarisch, gerecht und offen
